A letter from Corey, MWMA President and 2024 Lead Event Coordinator 

Hello everyone,

In 2023 I stepped into the role of President of the MWMA. For 2024 I wasn’t planning on wearing both of these hats (President and Lead Event Coordinator), and I’m sure that some of you have questions, so I would like to answer some of them. 

Will there be an Ale this year?

YES! 

What are the dates?

May 24-27, 2024

Where is the Ale site?

Bethel Horizons Camp in Dodgeville, Wisconsin - about 1 hour west of Madison

When will Registration open?

We hope to have registration open 1 month from now (mid-March)

Who will be hosting?

The Host Team!
Who is on the Host Team? Well… that’s a longer story.

Many of the people on the Host Team dance with Ann Arbor Morris. If this seems irregular for a Wisconsin Ale, it is. Here’s how it happened. The MWMA was searching for an Ale site for 2024, and we loved the time we had at Bethel Horizons in 2022. Thanks to all the hard work the Wisconsin teams put into building a relationship with the camp, they loved having us!  The Bethel staff were incredibly accommodating and made adjustments to their bookings to give us a home for 2024. 

The Wisconsin teams deserve a rest - after 3 long years of ale planning (2020 - 2022), wedging in 2 virtual ales before we finally had an Ale in 2022. Ann Arbor Morris felt ready to host an event, but were unable to secure an Ale site in Michigan. It seemed like these could be two large pieces of the same puzzle, so we set out to figure out how to do this remotely. 

Several other individuals from throughout the Morris community are on the Host Team - people who are interested in event planning and can commit the time to help make this happen. We are still looking for more assistance in a few areas, so if you are interested in helping, stay tuned for more info.
