Discussion:
Pagan Faire - March 23 at Oaks Park (Dance Pavilion?). Our stage time is noon. Call time will be announced (probably 11:30-ish?) - keep an eye out for future announcements.
Chitaqua - Sat. 4/2 at David and Linda's. Bring a potluck if you can.
Dances:
* Coalface for 8 - as normally done, but with a change to the box tops figure. This will now be Box Tops & Bottoms (simultaneously), followed by Box Middles (while ends dance in place), and finished with a full back to back (left & right) for everyone.
* Coalface for 6 [adapted] - Intro with sticking starting tops, then seconds join in, then thirds, then all stick again. Chorus, all stick for 4 strikes, then all hey, then all stick for 8 strikes. Box tops and Bottoms as with other Moulton 6 person dances followed by a full back to back for all. Chorus. Diagonal Back to backs as with other Moulton 6 person dance followed by shunts with the middles facing the end to their right's (#4 face up, #5 face down). Chorus. Grand Hey with the middles facing down, and tops facing across. Hey until you meet your corner (1 with 6, 2 with 5, 3 with 4), dance around that person, then hey back. Outro with everyone sticking for a full 8 strikes before bottoms start the dropping out.
* Mrs. Casey's - no changes
* Knuckles Akimbo - no changes
* Oak 'N Ash - Basically the same as Coalface for 6, but during the chorus it's just stick and hey (not stick, hey, stick). There was some discussion about the Grand Hey, and it ended up being start the hey with middles facing down, tops across, hey all the way to home, then middles face up, bottoms face across and hey all the way to home. Sticking with partner at the midpoint (?). My brain is fuzzy on the details as there was so much discussion going on, so clarification is welcome.
* Windlass - no changes
* Valentine for 8 - corner crossings done as 1 with 8, 2 with 7, and 3 with 4 and 5 with 6 simultaneously. During the whole hey the bottom pair (7&8) "stand and look pretty" as Linda says, or do an interpretive dance orbit around the set as demonstrated by Adrienne and Jayme. Otherwise it's as the 6 person version.
